Introduction

This manual is for the administrators who install, configure and operate a Kubuno instance. Kubuno is a self-hosted, free (AGPLv3) and modular cloud platform — a sovereign alternative to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.

What you will learn #

  • Install the core, then the modules you need.
  • Configure the database, storage, email, authentication and HTTPS.
  • Manage users, back up, monitor and secure your instance.
Note

Looking to develop a module instead? See the technical documentation. To use an app? See the user guides.

Philosophy #

A small core (authentication, storage, events, reverse proxy) and a constellation of independent modules, each a separate process and a .deb package. You only install what you need, and the platform grows without ever becoming a monolith.
